The most played youtube piano piece - Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata Mov.1
Piano and songwriting of pop/rock songs - that is one thing, but absorbed with classical music like Beethoven again - the result of a severe accident and two broken arms - a calling to the artist - who loves different kinds of music, photography, design communication and being a radio editor of his radio show.
Proud to have shot the almost completely self-made first video (from camera to style to post production).
Many thanks to Stephan Humbek, who helped Bastian with final cut and assisted him also as his right hand during his radio shows as well.
Bastian Lee Jones began to learn playing classical piano at the age of thirteen. After 3 years he already played Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Bartok, Schotakowitsch, Schumann, Schubert and Grieg. And the big A flat polonaise by Chopin. Though prize winner of the celebrated youth competition "Jugend Musiziert" - all the professors only pointed out, that he started too late for a career as classical pianoplayer. Finally grateful about those statements Bastian anyway turned to songwriting, which was much more attractive than spending 8 tedious hours alone at the piano to keep a bit pace with the prodigies and cracks who already played at the age of two years Rachmaninoff (Bastian is jesting here and exaggerating!).
After a serious accident he was in a kind of special state of mind - within a year he recorded 90 pieces, among those, pieces of Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Satie, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Händel, Pachelbel and Schumann. Just to mention the classical composers. It was a run - a miracle!
All movements of the Moonlight Sonata were recorded in that special time full of spirit.
