Zedd wurde am 2. September 1989 in Russland geboren. Aufgewachsen ist er als Sohn zweier Musiker in Kaiserslautern. Dort besuchte er das Gymnasium am Rittersberg. Er begann mit vier Jahren, Klavier zu spielen. Ab 2002 spielte er dann Schlagzeug, gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Arkadi Zaslavski und Jochen Müller in der Metal-/Rockband Dioramic beim Label Lifeforce Records. 2009 wurde durch das Album † von Justice sein Interesse für elektronische Musik geweckt.
Seit Ende 2014 ist Zedd in einer Beziehung mit der US-amerikanischen Sängerin Selena Gomez.
Anfänge als Produzent
Am 14. Juni 2011 veröffentlichte er seine Single Dovregubben. Diese stieg direkt auf Platz eins der Beatport-Electro-House-Charts ein.
2012 produzierte er gemeinsam mit Max Martin für Justin Bieber und Nicki Minaj den auf Biebers

2012-2013: Album Clarity und erste Charterfolge
Am 2. Oktober 2012 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Studioalbum Clarity. Es stieg auf Platz 38 der US-amerikanischen Albumcharts ein, war dort aber nur eine Woche vertreten. Die erste Single-Auskopplung war Shave It Up. Sie erschien am 8. November 2011, konnte allerdings keine Chartplatzierungen erreichen.
Die zweite Auskopplung war Spectrum. Das Lied nahm Zedd gemeinsam mit Matthew Koma, dem Freund von Carly Rae Jepsen, auf. Anfangs erreichte es keine Chartplatzierungen, doch nachdem der Song als Werbesong auauf dem Fernsehsender Pro 7 verwendet wurde, stieg es in Deutschland, Österreich und Japan in die Top 100 ein. Die dritte Single aus dem Album trägt den Titel Stache. Des Weiteren erschien das Lied nur digital als Download und erreichte deshalb auch keine Chartplatzierungen. Kurze Zeit nach Veröffentlichung erschien eine Version des Liedes, die von der US-amerikanischen Sängerin Lady Gaga gesungen wurde.
Clarity ist der Titel der vierten Single aus dem gleichnamigen Album. Der Song erschien am 1. Februar 2013 und enthält Vocals von Foxes. Am 16. Februar stieg es in den britischen Charts auf Platz 34 ein und erreichte dort mit Platz 29 seine Höchstposition. Knapp zwei Monate später stieg der Song in den US-Charts ein und stieg bis auf Platz 8. James Maslow, der Sänger von Big Time Rush, coverte diesen Song und stellte ihn auf seinen Youtube-Kanal. Clarity wurde bei den Grammy Awards 2014 als beste Dance-Aufnahme des Jahres ausgezeichnet. Des Weiteren erhielt er für die Single den ASCAP- sowie den European Border Breakers Award. In 2002 Zaslavski began playing for the German band Dioramic, signed by Lifeforce Records. Zaslavski's interest in producing electronic music was piqued after hearing † by French electronic duo Justice. He began producing electronic music in 2009.
Under the name 'Zedd', Zaslavski has produced a wide variety of remixes and originals. He won two
Beatport remix contests in 2010; his first original release, "The Anthem", entered the Beatport Electro house chart in the top 20. His remix of Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" also entered the Beatport Electro House chart, peaking at number 2. Sob o nome de 'Zedd', Anton tem produzido uma grande variedade de remixes e originais. Tendo começado suas aparições pelos concursos do Beatport; seu primeiro lançamento oficial, 'The Anthem', cravou uma posição no Beatport Electro house Top 20. Seu remix de "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" (Skrillex) explodiu nos Beatport Electro House Top Ten charts, terminando em #2. Desde então começou a produzir remixes de artistas conhecidos no meio musical, como The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Skrillex, entre outros. Anton cria suas músicas usando Cubase, uma suite de produção musical, aproveitando as vantagens de diferentes plugins como Sylenth1, Nexus e Omnisphere synthesizers.
Em 2011, os remixes de Zedd das faixas de Lady Gaga "Born This Way" e "Marry the Night" foram selecionados para estarem presentes na edição especial do segundo álbum da cantora, Born This Way (2011). Em setembro o single de Zedd "Shave It" foi apresentado em um teaser de 30 segundos na pagina de Skrillex no YouTube, sendo o primeiro lançamento de Zedd na gravadora OWSLA Records.
Zedd também apareceu em um comercial de "BEATS" de Dr.Dre com algumas outras estrelas.
Zedd começou a produzir o álbum "ARTPOP", de Lady Gaga em 2012, onde produziu as faixas: Aura, G.U.Y. e Donatella. Ele também produziu o álbum "FEEL" da Namie Amuro.
Em 2014, Zedd participou na música de Ariana Grande "Break Free", produzindo a música.
Em 2015, Zedd entrou no estúdio de gravação com a atriz e cantora Selena Gomez, onde foram especulada uma possível colaboração, que foi confirmada mais tarde por fotos na internet dos dois em estúdio. Recentemente foi confirmado que o novo single de Zedd, "I Want You To Know" irá conter os vocais de Gomez, e que a música foi composta por Ryan Tedder, vocalista da banda OneRepublic, e que será lançada oficialmente dia 22 de Fevereiro de 2015, pela Interscope, gravadora de Zedd e Selena.

Der 24-jährige Zedd aus Kaiserslautern hat zusammen mit Foxes "Clarity" gemacht - und dafür mal eben einen Grammy in der Kategorie "Best Dance Recording" bekommen. Er war zusammen mit Lady Gaga im Studio - und musste sich erst daran gewöhnen, einem Superstar Anweisungen zu geben.
