Piano and songwriting of pop/rock songs - that is one thing, but absorbed with classical music like Beethoven again - the result of a severe accident and two broken arms - a calling to the artist - who loves different kinds of music, photography, design communication and being a radio editor of his radio show.
Proud to have shot the almost completely self-made first video (from camera to style to post production).
Many thanks to Stephan Humbek, who helped Bastian with final cut and assisted him also as his right hand during his radio shows as well.

Bastian Lee Jones began to learn playing classical piano at the age of thirteen. After 3 years he already played Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Bartok, Schotakowitsch, Schumann, Schubert and Grieg. And the big A flat polonaise by Chopin. Though prize winner of the celebrated youth competition "Jugend Musiziert" - all the professors only pointed out, that he started too late for a career as classical pianoplayer. Finally grateful about those statements Bastian anyway turned to songwriting, which was much more attractive than spending 8 tedious hours alone at the piano to keep a bit pace with the prodigies and cracks who already played at the age of two years Rachmaninoff (Bastian is jesting here and exaggerating!).
After a serious accident he was in a kind of special state of mind - within a year he recorded 90 pieces, among those, pieces of Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Satie, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Händel, Pachelbel and Schumann. Just to mention the classical composers. It was a run - a miracle!
All movements of the Moonlight Sonata were recorded in that special time full of spirit.

Auch dieses Jahr habe ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen das Spektrum Festival in der Heimatstadt von BACKSPIN zu besuchen. Nachdem ich letztes Jahr bei einem Moshpit von Ufo einen Tritt ins Gesicht kassierte, habe ich mich dieses Mal auf andere Sachen konzentriert - zum Beispiel Stagediven. Das und wie es Backstage auf dem Gelände der MS Dockville aussieht, auf dem nebenbei bemerkt auch das Festival der 187 Strassenbande veranstaltet wurde, seht ihr hier: ausserdem Teil dieses Berichts sind übrigens Olexesh, Nimo, Chima Ede, D-Flame und aus irgend einem Grund auch eine Herde aufgescheuchter Schafe.

Fast drei Jahre ist das letzte Treffen von Johnny Mauser, Captain Gips und BACKSPIN her. Damals waren die beiden gemeinsam mit ihrer Band Neonschwarz bei uns im Blackbook Interview. Inzwischen ist einiges passiert und die beiden stehen mit ihren Alben in den Startlöchern, die interessanterweise beide am selben Tag über dasselbe Label, Audiolith, veröffentlicht werden. Warum das für die beiden überhaupt kein Problem ist und inwieweit Rap momentan politisch oder nicht politisch genug ist sind nur eine kleine Auswahl der Themen. In einer Hamburger Runde wird natürlich auch der G20-Gipfel letzten Monat besprochen und inwieweit dieser in den Alben der beiden bekanntermaßen politisch aktiven Rapper reflektiert wird. Vor einiger Zeit erhielt PA Sports' Label Life is Pain Zuwachs: Mosh36 wird am 15. September mit seiner Platte DZ zurückkehren. In #waslos bei Rooz erzählt der Berliner, wie das Signing bei LiP zustande kam und was er vom Team hält. Außerdem spricht Mosh über seine 187-Vergangenheit und das aktuelle Verhältnis zu Bonez MC. Das Out4Fame Festival 2017 zeichnete sich wie immer durch ein krasses Line-Up aus, sorgte allerdings auch für negative Schlagzeilen. Über Letztere wird sich Toxik in einem Interview mit den Veranstaltern unterhalten. In der neuen Backstage-Folge bekommst du erstmal unverfälschte Eindrücke vom Gelände und aus dem Backstage. Dort trieben sich unter anderem MoTrip, Nimo, Eko Fresh, JokA, Kontra K und Kianush rum, die von Rooz, Toxik und Aria vor die Vlog-Cam gelockt wurden. Derweil legten Peti Free einen brutalen A cappella-Part bei YouTuber Leon Lovelock hin, der bei Aria erklärte, was er beim Out4Fame Festival trieb.
