Joep Beving - Venus (Movement III)

“Venus” starts with a lush and intense string quartet prologue, followed by beautiful piano phrases. Gradually the piano is accompanied by subtle solo cello melodies and later a string and bass clarinet quartet. The piece can be interpreted as a constant battle between darkness and light as if the person has no other choice then to finally befriend with his or her destiny, regardless of the outcome.Contemporary Dutch composer and pianist Joep Beving creates genuinely relaxing and contemplative neo-classical music with a broad and immediate appeal. Joep Beving describes it as “simple music for complex emotions”.
