Joep Beving - Unus Mundus (Movement I)

Into the dark blue is the first single from Joep Beving’s next album Henosis. It is the second song on the new album and the first song from Joep that uses electronics. It is an invitation for a journey that is about to start. Into the dark blue refers both to the deepness of the ocean as well as the far end of our atmosphere and beyond. Henosis will be the completion of a trilogy that started with this debut Solipsism and sophomore album Prehension both for piano solo. Contemporary Dutch composer and pianist Joep Beving creates genuinely relaxing and contemplative neo-classical music with a broad and immediate appeal. Joep Beving describes it as “simple music for complex emotions”.

Lang Lang wowed tourists in the ‘City of Love’ on Valentine’s Day 2019 as he gave a unique album launch concert in Paris on a boat cruising along the Seine, performing pieces from his new album, Piano Book, such as the French classic ‘Clair de lune’ by Claude Debussy.
With ‘Piano Book’, Lang Lang goes back to his first love – to the pieces that made him want to become a musician in the first place. “I dedicate this album to my wonderful piano students and all my friends around the world who love the piano as much as I do.” Rediscovering the most popular and accessible pieces written for learners and lovers of the piano, this album is a journey of inspiration, of discovery, fantasy and learning. ‘Piano Book’ gathers together many of the miniatures that generations of amateur pianists have grown up with. Yuja Wang’s philosophy of music is both simple and profoundly complex. “I want to relate all life to music,” she recently told veteran British critic Fiona Maddocks. The Beijing-born pianist’s latest album for Deutsche Grammophon captures the white heat of solo works by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Scriabin and Ligeti, a trio of Russians together with one of the late 20th-century’s greatest composers. The Berlin Recital was recorded live this summer at the Berlin Philharmonie’s Kammermusiksaal during Yuja’s extensive solo tour of North America and Europe.
