With Absinthe, his second release for ECM, guitarist Dominic Miller has created an album colored by a distinct atmosphere. “The first thing that came to me before I wrote any tunes was the title,” he says. “Living in the South of France, I am fascinated by Impressionism. Sharp light and witchy mistrals, combined with strong alcohol and intense hangovers must have driven some of these artists toward insanity. Skies that are green, faces blue, perspective distorted.” While Miller’s ECM debut, Silent Light, emphasized intimacy in solo and duo settings, Absinthe finds the guitarist fronting a quintet that brings his ever-lyrical compositions to textured life. Miller, switching between nylon- and steel-string acoustic guitars, has a key harmonic-melodic foil in the bandoneon of Santiago Arias. The vivid presence at the drum kit is Manu Katché, an ECM veteran and for years a colleague with Miller in the band of Sting (whom the guitarist has accompanied now for three decades). Mike Lindup’s keyboard tones add a ghostly air to such highlights as the title track, while bassist Nicholas Fiszman roots the sound. As for Miller, JazzTimes described him as a guitarist who “milks every note, thriving on the pauses between them and whispery effects of fingers sliding across strings,” while Stereophile agreed, declaring that “his ability to express emotion through a guitar is amazing to hear.”

Sisto Rossi might became the keystone of the post industrial experimental/noise scene of the Ruhr Area. Originally from Tampa, Florida he appeared in western Germany around 2001, with plenty of energetic and creative live performances under several aliases. Also involved in label and concert activities during all this years, he is one of a kind in the so called Ruhr Area ever since. His work is focused on the research for sounds from gear, which he is also building by himself, and the possibilities of body experience through sound and room. As a result, Sisto creates a diverse universe of performances, depicting his personal physical reactions and thoughts about material and environment with his music.
On My Dungeon My Rules, recorded during 2018, Sisto makes use of different styles, moods and sound sources. A whole album related to his past and present. Its telling a story and like its Sistos kind of thing, its obviously a horror story. The title says everything.

Genauso ereignisreich wie schnell zog 2017 über ANTIHELD hinweg, die fünf Stuttgarter Jungs sind dabei an sich selbst vorbeigerauscht und müssen sich nun erstmal wieder einfangen. ANTIHELD erzählen, dass es okay ist, ein bisschen kaputt zu sein. Dass es sich gut anfühlen kann, ein Minus auf dem Konto, aber einen Rucksack voller Kindheitsträume mit sich herum zu tragen.
Dabei ist es auch völlig egal, ob man ihren Stil nun mit „Urban Folk“, „Rio Reiser & Sons“ oder anders beschreibt: ANTIHELD machen deutschsprachige Popmusik; rau, ehrlich und… mit Quetschkommode! Zunächst geht’s dann im April auf Support-Tour mit den Chartstürmern VERSENGOLD und auch im Sommer steht dann der Bus mit brandneuen Songs im Kofferraum für Festivals von Flensburg bis Zermatt nicht mehr still.

Sie kennen sich schon seit ihren frühesten Sandkastentagen – eine Vertrautheit und Harmonie, die man ihren Songs deutlich anhört. Seit mehr als zwei Jahrzehnten machen Jan Hauke und Jascha Welzel nun schon gemeinsam Musik, die beide zu einer unzertrennlichen Einheit zusammengeschweißt hat. Nachdem sich das Solinger Folk-Pop-Duo in den vergangenen Jahren eine stetig wachsende Fan-Community erspielt hat, legen Jan & Jascha nun die erste Single aus ihrem kommenden Debütalbum „Liebes Leben“ vor!
Auf manche Dinge lohnt es sich, zu warten. So wie auf den ersten offiziellen Longplayer von Jan & Jascha. Bereits seit Kindesbeinen an musizieren die beiden besten Freunde zusammen, waren immer wieder in den verschiedensten Konstellationen aktiv und sind nach dem Release von diversen in Eigenregie produzierten CDs sogar während lokaler Gigs im Vorprogramm von Christina Stürmer oder Stefanie Heinzmann zu sehen gewesen. Seit 2014 sind die beiden blind aufeinander eingespielten als Duo unterwegs, das zusammen seinen großen Traum lebt: Gemeinsam Musik zu machen. Zuletzt waren sie auf 5 OpenAir Konzerten der Opener für die Kelly Family vor jeweils mehr als 10.000 Zuschauern. Als deutschsprachigen Folk-Pop beschreibt die Formation selbst ihren modernen Sound aus eingängigen Popharmonien und organischen Instrumenten wie Klavier oder Banjo, der von Jans eindringlichen Texten abgerundet wird.
Die beiden Musiker Jan Hauke und Jascha Welzel erzählen in ihren Songs Geschichten aus dem echten Leben: Themen wie Freundschaft und Liebe haben dabei ebenso ihren festen Platz, wie Abenteuerlust und Fernweh, nostalgische Kindheitserinnerungen, der immerwährende Drang nach Freiheit und kreativem Ausdruck, oder die Besinnung aufs Wesentliche und die dringend nötige Entschleunigung in dieser schnelllebigen Zeit. Immer durchzogen von einem positiven Grundgedanken.
Positives Denken, das Jan & Jascha auch auf ihrer offiziellen Debütsingle „Geschichte schreiben“ transportieren – einem sofort packenden Ohrwurm über neue Anfänge und den Mut, seine Träume zu verwirklichen. Luftig-leichte Gitarrenklänge verbinden sich mit modernen Beats zu einem echten Ohrwurm mit Sommerhitqualitäten. „Im Grunde geht es darum, auf sein Herz zu hören“, erklärt Jascha. „Es gibt Entscheidungen im Leben, in denen man einfach seinem Bauchgefühl folgen und sich auf das konzentrieren sollte, was einen glücklich macht. So wie im Falle von uns beiden: Wir sind unfassbar glücklich, unseren großen Traum leben und gemeinsam Musik machen zu können. Selbst, wenn es manchmal auch mit vielen Entbehrungen einher ging, haben wir diesen Schritt bisher in keiner Sekunde bereut. György Kurtág, 93, ranks among the great living composers of classical modernism. Consistently shortening and accentuating his works, he perfected his aphoristic style, producing concise miniatures.
This new album is dedicated to previously unreleased works by Kurtág, presenting for the first time twenty-two movements after Georg Christoph Lichtenberg's Sudelbücher, scored for soprano and double bass: a real discovery of aphorisms. Also based on literary models are his Scenes from a Novel, Op. 19, after fifteen poems by Rimma Dalos (soprano, violin, cimbalom, double bass). The Seven Songs, Op. 22 (soprano, cimbalom) and In Memory of a Winter Evening, Op. 8 (soprano, violin, cimbalom), appear for the first time on CD.
This thoughtfully compiled collection shows the Hungarian master as one of the most individual artistic voices of our time.
The four internationally renowned soloists, here in the original and charming formation of soprano, violin, cimbalom and double bass, interpret some of the most densely wrought pieces by György Kurtág.

Tiny Wolves "Free Fallin'" live auf dem Orange Blossom Special Festival 2019.
"And I'm free - free fallin' - yeah I'm free - free fallin'" - Glitterhouse Records is more than happy to show you the first single by the Tiny Wolves. „Free Fallin‘“ is an amazing acoustic cover version of Tom Pettys' all time classic sung by 50 kids (!) aged from 8-11. This choir is led by ex-Intro columnist and elementary teacher Kristof Beuthner. The idea is to reimangine unforgettable songs originally written by artists like Tom Petty, Travis, Keane or Oasis for instance. The kids decide which songs they want to play. Together with Kristof they translate the lyrics and start rehearsing. In 2018 the Tiny Wolves shot their first music video with Hamburg based artist OVE. In June they played their first festival show at the Orange Blossom Special Festival in Beverungen, Germany in front of 3.500 people!

Zwiegespräche is a meeting of spirits. “We compose the same way,” said György Kurtág to Heinz Holliger on hearing this recording, which emphasises works for oboe by these two major composers. Both of them reference the entire history of music in their pieces, both incorporate dedications and messages to friends and colleagues in the fabric of their work, and both draw upon literature as an inspirational source. Both, moreover, love the miniature as an expressive form; short pieces by Kurtág and Holliger are interwoven. Holliger’s sequence Airs (2015/6) is inspired by seven texts by Swiss poet Philippe Jaccottet, whose voice is heard here. The release of Zwiegespräche is timely. Heinz Holliger turned 80 on May 21, his creativity as composer and his resourcefulness as instrumentalist undimmed. The album concludes with Holliger’s Sonate für Oboe solo, composed in 1956, and still played by its author with absolute authority.

Er zählt zu den ganz Großen des deutschsprachigen Schlagers: Ein charismatischer Sänger und Performer, der sein Publikum seit nun 15 Jahren mit seinen Songs und seiner Stimme immer wieder verzaubert. Mit „Hola, Hola – Hast Du heute Abend Zeit für mich“ veröffentlicht er nun den nächsten Ohrwurm. Schon auf seiner „Latino“-Tour im Frühjahr 2019 hat Semino Rossi das mitreißende „Hola, Hola – Hast du heute Abend Zeit für mich“ live vorgestellt und Standing-Ovations von seinem begeisterten Publikum erhalten.
„Dieser Text handelt von der Liebe auf den ersten Blick“, so Semino. „Man fühlt sich sofort zueinander hingezogen, kann an nichts anderes mehr denken und sehnt sich nur noch danach, den anderen wieder in den Armen zu halten. Produziert wurde dieser Song erneut von Thorsten Brötzmann (Helene Fischer, Howard Carpendale), der bereits für die Stücke auf Semino Rossis letztem Platin-Album verantwortlich zeichnete. „So ist das Leben“ erzählt von den Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens. Von Freude, von Schmerz und davon, jeden Tag ganz bewusst zu erleben und wie ein Fest zu feiern. Das ist auch Seminos ganz persönliches Lebensmotto, das er mit dem sofort ins Blut gehenden Ohrwurm an seine Hörer weitergibt!
Bereits mit seinem letzten Studioalbum „Ein Teil von mir“ hat sich Semino Rossi 2017 auf dem vorläufigen Höhepunkt seines Schaffens präsentiert: Aus dem Stand schoss der Longplayer auf Platz 1 der österreichischen Charts, auf einen 2. Four years after the critically lauded Eight Winds the Athens-based Sokratis Sinopolous Quartet returns with the aptly-named Metamodal. A unique band, the quartet subtly sifts a vast pool of influence, its music informed by the players’ experience of folk forms, Byzantine and classical music, and many modes of improvising. The combination of Sinopoulos’s lyra, with its yearning, ancient tones, and the sensitive, modern piano of Yann Keerim is particularly beguiling, and the group as a whole has made giant steps since its debut. Metamodal, featuring new pieces by Sokratis and a concluding collective improvisation, was recorded in July 2018 at Sierra Studios in Athens, and produced by Manfred Eicher.

DEMONS & WIZARDS are back!
Founded in 1999 by Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth), DEMONS & WIZARDS released two highly acclaimed albums entitled “Demons & Wizards” and “Touched by the Crimson King”. The band is currently working on their much anticipated third studio album, which is scheduled to be released in early 2020. Prior to that, DEMONS & WIZARDS will celebrate a massive return to stages worldwide!
